Who can benefit from Reiki?

Anyone can benefit from Reiki. If you are open to positive change you can benefit. You don't need to have a specific background or belief system or religious affiliation to benefit. Reiki is universal and inclusive of all, both human and animals. It is also something that everyone can learn to help themselves and others.  

Is Reiki safe?

Yes, Reiki is very safe. It is noninvasive and drug/chemical free. The only thing used in Reiki treatments is energy. Energy flows within and around all of our bodies. Reiki gently helps to align that energy to promote healing and relaxation. 

*Reiki can be safely administered without touching the actual body and practicing social distancing. Distance Reiki can be done virtually also, using services such as Zoom.

Can Reiki cure diseases?

Reiki is not a cure for any disease. It is a complementary therapy, meaning that it can work with traditional medical treatments to help accelerate the healing effects. Example: someone with cancer who is getting chemotherapy treatments may experience less side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and fatigue when combined with regular Reiki treatments. 

What does Reiki feel like? 

Reiki effects will differ from person to person, as we all have different perceptions. Some people experience sensations of warmth or cold in the body during and after treatment. Others may have mild muscle twitches during treatment, which is common as energy is shifting. Occasionally people are so relaxed that they fall asleep during the session. Rarely, some may experience things such as a mild headache, upset stomach and/or fatigue after a session. This is usually short in duration and also a good sign that energy blocks are being released. Many people report not feeling anything at all during or after a session, and that is perfectly normal also. The energy of Reiki works on many levels so we may not always feel physical sensations in the body. Most clients report an overall feeling of being relaxed and rejuvenated after a session.  

How many sessions are needed? 

There is no set number of sessions that we recommend for every person. Every body is unique and so the number of sessions for the most positive results will vary. For general relaxation and energy tuning, one session per month can work well. If you have a serious condition or affliction, sessions once per week may be more helpful. It is a gentle treatment that yields the most benefit when receiving multiple sessions over time. We are all exposed to many toxins everyday: the air we breathe, the food we eat, even the sounds we hear. Those toxins affect our energy levels and physical and mental health. Regular Reiki sessions can help to remove toxins and align the energy levels in the body. We will personalize a treatment plan with the number of sessions for each client based on their individual needs.
